About this opportunity:
- Location: Island Oaks 9664 Nursery Rd Blvd, Glen St Mary,
- Compensation: $14.00- $16.00 depending on experience
- Position type: Part-Time/Full-time Hours vary, weekends, nights
What we are looking for in a Grounds Technician:
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping is preferred.
- Knowledge of plant care, irrigation systems, and landscaping techniques.
- Ability to operate landscaping equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Able to work in extreme temperatures
- Prior experience in general maintenance or facilities support.
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new tasks and equipment.
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and basic carpentry is preferred.
- Comfortable using a variety of hand and power tools to complete routine and emergency repairs.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and carry tools or materials as needed.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, crouch, and climb ladders or stairs for extended periods.
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks and respond to maintenance emergencies as needed.
What you will do as a Grounds Technician:
- Perform routine grounds maintenance tasks, including mowing, trimming, and edging lawns.
- Monitor and care for plants, flowers, and shrubs to ensure a vibrant and inviting landscape.
- Conduct regular inspections of outdoor facilities and amenities to identify and address any maintenance or repair needs.
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment and tools in good working condition.
- Assist with special projects, such as landscaping enhancements and seasonal decorations.
- Collaborate with other resort staff to ensure a clean and aesthetically pleasing environment for our guests.
